The Second Confession

Wilson Street Pantry

~~~
Picture a typically cold Scottish morning, you wake up to a message from your best friend asking for your usual coffee catch-up. The perfect place to go? Wilson Street Pantry.
With the smell of freshly brewed coffee and their popular brunch menu being served, it’s hard to walk past without nipping in for a quick java hit, or a coffee to go.
This local café in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City, owned by Neil and wife, Laura, have created a perfectly laid back and welcoming atmosphere. The floor to ceiling windows allow the Scottish sunshine (when it wants to appear) to furnish the popular café, with the black and white geometric tiles contrasting well against the scattered greenery. Wilson Street offer limited seating both inside and outside of the café, allowing coffee lovers to escape from the rain or enjoy Glasgow’s rare sunny days.
Not only is the interior of the café a general crowd pleaser, their coffee puts a smile on people’s faces too! Wilson Street’s drink menu offers familiar coffee choices, including Latte, Cappuccino and my personal favourite, Flat White. The unique coffee blend used by the local café owners has a nut-like undertone and pairs perfectly with their dairy options. (if you should ever choose to visit Wilson Street Pantry, try the Flat white with skimmed milk and a single pump of vanilla – thank me later). Their coffee is supplied by their friends at Papercup and they seem to have also embraced the ‘non-dairy’ movement, offering alternatives such as Almond and Soy milk.
Having tried their hand-crafted cappuccinos, lattes and flat whites, it’s safe to say this is one of my favourite coffee spots in Glasgow.
